Well, having played with this journal for a while, I'm still trying to figure out how I can do something a little differently from everyone else ... maybe I don't have to, but I'm still trying to figure out who might actually be reading this ... apart from the couple of others on livejournal that I have added as friends and so get pestered by my updates.
anyhoo ... all of a sudden I am having all kinds of stupid problems with my email. at the moment i'm still getting multiple copies of messages i recieved about a week ago, adn my isp has no idea. of course, it must be something to do with my settings - which haven't changed in months and still match what they think they should be. [bloody hope so, after all, i've only been using email software for nearly 16 years ... would like to think i have a clue how to configure an account by now]
of course, i may have gone mad in that time
i've resisted reinstalling. windozer is a pain to do at any time, but with as many apps and patches and so forth as i have on here ... it'll be a weekend job, at least. still hate ms.after all these years they still can't produce a product more stable than a bunch of guys on their spare time (open source software, linux, freebsd, openbsd).
ah hell, maybe my isp will call me back with something useful to say ... then again, maybe i'll win lotto (without a ticket) and be bale to buy some real tech support ... every damn thing that works costs extra ... it's not user pays, but pay or no user ...
