i have shamelessly stolen/copied the following from
cherryheavy ( see 2003-12-29).
this has been a very up and down year. two steps forward, and one back, one forward and two back.
anyway, here goes:
What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
gave up something i was obsessed with to be able to shift my thinking ot the future.
Did you keep your New Year resolution and will you make more for next year?
i don't make them, so ... no.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
no. nor did anyone give birth close to me.
Did anyone close to you die?
no. i was never close to my patrnal grandmother.
What countries did you visit?
australia. but then, i live there ...
What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
a job. a place of my own. (a clue?)
What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
hmm.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
giving up my thesis.
What was your biggest failure?
giving up my these. (it was big year ...)
Did you suffer illness or injury?
kinda. i discovered that i've always "suffered" from asperger syndrome.
What was the best thing you bought?
lego technics for my son.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
my son.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
many of my blood relatives.
Where did most of your money go?
debts
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
asperger syndrome diagnosis. it was that kind of year.
What song will always remind you of 2003?
evanescence bring me to life, the john butler trio betterman, peaches the inch.
Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder?
happier.
Thinner or fatter?
both. at least twice during the year. dammit.
Richer or poorer?
richer. that is to say, on balance, i have money in my pocket longer each fortnight than this time last year.
What do you wish you'd done more of?
met new people.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
fretting.
How will you be spending Christmas?
watching the extended versions of the lord of the rings 1 & 2. i don't actually celebrate xmas as such. i have midsummer instead.
Did you fall in love in 2003?
no. pity.
How many one-night stands?
zero. requires meeting females, and having half decent social skills. dammit.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
no. not anyone new.
What was the best book you read?
fiction: william tad stone of farewell, book two of memory, sorrow and thorn. (didn't read nearly enough fiction)
non-fiction:
What was your greatest musical discovery?
i rediscovered the john butler trio. evanescence. punjabi mc. peaches. skeewiff.
