my son had his fourth birthday today. lorelei threw a birthday party for him.
he had a ball. initially his excitement got the better of him, and he was a screaming, running, tumbling mess. present giving was done on the fly - which was just as well, coz the excitement would have killed someone (us if not him).
the major present was a bike (with trainer wheels and helmet - in increase the chances he'll make it to birthday no. 5). then there were books, and dinosaur models, and dinosaur books, and dinosaur clothes (see a pattern here?). he also got a few educational things: some counting and spelling cdroms to play with on mummy's computer, and counting and spelling books.
the actual party was two hours packed with games, fruit juice, play doh, pass the parcel, a pinata filled with toys, balloons, fruit juice, watermelon, sorbet, games. you get the picture. with the temperature up in the high thirties centigrade [around 100F] we stayed inside most of the time and made sure the little people had plenty of fluids.
a successful, if very loud, afternoon.
tired now.
