No. I went up there coz NTU/CDU is/was the easiest law school to get into, I wanted/needed a change fo scenery, and a friend of mine was up there at the law school and somehow convinced me it owuld be fun.

I lived on the Casuarina Campus of NTU (now rebadged as CDU) ... a few minutes ot hte beach, a few more to the 24hr Coles, several hours stagger home form the bars and pubs in the city :)
