constantine

constantine was fun. another fun movie. different fun than bride & prejudice. but i hope that's obvious.

been a while since i've seen rachel weisz - about a boy, no the mummy returns. (i didn't actually see about a boy, now that i think about it.) turns out she's barely a month older than me, and not particularly far away either. of course, my parents were not as wealthy as hers, and i didn't go to cambridge. nor do i have much talent for acting. thankfully, not a great deal in common, really :)
constantine is an interesting take on the good v evil game. (the comic gets uneven ratings from friends. might have a quick lookie for some art though.) some subtle political comments along the way lighten the mood. it was refreshing to see exorcism scenes that were simple, and symbol-laiden. no gobs of fluid produced from nowhere. some well executed special effects along the way. (i liked the way hell was portrayed. and the mechanisms for 'visiting' - consistent as well.)

my favourite scenes: "'twas a hot day in hell"; "heroine packs heat"; "i'm thinking"; "the devil drops in".
honourable mentions: "hero hoists mirror"; "heroine, meet horribles"; "i saw dead people"; "heroine crosses to the wet side of the force"; "who's a pretty girl then".

[strangely, most of the scenes that come to mind involve keanu ... when did he learn to act?]

you just know there's gonna be a sequel ...

I do not know why, but this post is messing up my journal (forcing all the entries after it to the right of the page in a very narrow column). Can you look into what might be wrong with it? Thanks.
