sorry, when i respond, i'm usually just reading your comment - using the lj web-commenting thingy - context can get overlooked in the excitement :)

i took costello's throwaway line about the internet to suggest that we might be more sensitive on the one hand, but more used ot privacy breaches on the other.

more like saying, you've gotten used ot the internet, you'll get used ot the id card.

though of course, we can argue that we've hacked the internet, we'll hack these cards too ... and probably much faster too.

that said, i half expect to hear stuff along the lines of your interpretation at some point in the "great-sell"™ propaganda spree ...
