i am going away for five weeks.
i will be teaching at my old high school in whyalla. this has been freaking me out a little, but is all cool now. fifteen years is a long time. i just feel supremely unprepared. but no biggie. just not enough time to get all the things done i'd like to do - especially catching up with everyone before i leave.
i met my supervising teacher yesterday at the annual conference for the local legal education teachers association. so i am now on the committee for next year (guess i ought to join up then :)
at some point, i'll be going on a field trip to moonta with my year 10 class for criminal justice. yeah, i get to teach some cool stuff this time round. year 11 legal studies, year 10 criminal justice, and year 9 australian history. so it'll be crime, crime, crime, parliament and elections all the way!
now i just have to get to my parent's place at sheidow park to check it out, and pick up a suitcase and a book or two. [about half an hours' worth - but will take me about three hours on public transport - not been able to find anyone who could give me a lift - i would be most of the way to whyalla in that time!]
i suspect i'll not have time to read or update lj for the next month or so. i hope everyone is happy, hale, and hearty in the meantime, and i look forward to catching up with you all.
