Learn from the mistakes of others

well, the end of week two (one).

been doing some actual lawyer type work thingy stuff. going into the remand centre with an interpreter. on contract.

the bit that sucks is this: we only get one hour a day with the client. one hour. i have about a thousand pages of witness statements and transcripts that have to be read to the client and translated.

so, at the current rate of about fifteen pages per visit ... i'm going to be popping down to the 'arc' (adelaide remand centre) most days for a few months. at least.

still, it's actually not boring. i'm not learning vietnamese, but i am getting to know the interpreters, and by the time of the trial i'll know the client better than his lawyer who'll only have met him a few times.

ok. three days 'til i enrol in the masters of info tech at unisa.

hmm. and three weeks until i start back down the computer nerd road that i stepped off ten years ago.
