I pretty much agree with the article. The most terrifying thing about this is that our Glorious Leaders TM are so blithely trampling rights that are the buttresses of any kind of real freedom. This harkens back to the powers of Absolutist baroque monarchs (as opposed to Medieval ones, who often had to answer to all sorts of laws and balances on their power) - if the law says you can't do something, change it, without regard for the consequences - executive is apparently once again above the law.
