Today I delivered (by hand,1 doncha know) my formal application for my PhD for 2007-2009/10 - and that all-important scholarship.

I am very much hoping to get one. $20,000 tax free will go a long way to keeping me fed. Without it, the PhD will have to take second place - once again - to the stupid "realities of life" ... those being that poverty sucks and the only other alternative is to sell hours of my time to someone else.

Come on Universe - give me a chance on this one.

I hope you are accepted!

If you're accepted for the program but not the scholarship -- perhaps you could do what [livejournal.com profile] keepingawake is doing, and teach at the campus (or elsewhere) alongside going through classes? He's not very well-off, but that work along with loans and grants/scholarships has been enough to cover the bills (even here, where the cost of living is VERY high).

Belated best wishes in getting the funds! It used to be one of my cherished fantasies to be able to 'educate' and now have to worry about the finances behind this priviledge.

*hugs*
