naming a new(ish) computer

ok. very soon i'll be playing with a new(ish) computer.

i'm buying a friends old computer (a pentium iii desktop).

we have a network. i need a name for my computer-to-be.

so. what to do. what to do.

i'm calling it 'agirlsname' ... my housemate has been watching scrubs ...

[unless someone can suggest a better name]

If you can't come up with a name for it yourself you shouldn't be allowed to have one. :p

but if anyone suggests a cooler name, i'll reconsider.

looking for something a little more obscure - and less person-like.

[trying to stretch myself here. otherwise i'd just go with something like 'penni' or 'moneypenny'. my laptop is called 'vladivostok' at the moment. that probably needs help too.]

other computers on our network include 'slood' and 'firebad' (our network is called 'fnord')

i'm beginning to warm to the idea of calling the computer 'penni' ... 'agirlsname' is funny, but maybe a bit long.

not that it really matters since no one will ever actually see the machine online ...
