Learn from the mistakes of others

life is a many splendid thing.

hope. you must always have some hope. it is more precious than all the things in the world.

life. she is full of surprises. she serves up what you hope for, what you believe in. not always as you expect - sometimes in ways you wish she wouldn't - but she delivers. in her own way. in her own time.

people are wonderful, and ugly, and surprising, and mad, and hungry, and angry, and nasty, and sorrowful, and beautiful, and hurtful, and lazy, and exciting, and ... sometimes you just want to hunt them down with a large gun.

but i'd rather all that than be alone. everyone^* fears loneliness, being alone. deep down. we're social animals. we go mad without each other. to be alone is the worst punishment. to make a person alone is the worst crime.

life has a nice way of working out if you trust her, and work with her, and let her surprise you.

i'm not alone. and i'm happy. very, very happy.

* a very few people can be alone. sociopaths. they can go either way.
