obsoletechild has reintroduced me to friendster.
any of you who would like to be invited to join as my friend on friendster, just let me know.
oddly, unlike other online communities (including this one), friendster doesn't seem to provide an obvious handle that could be advertised - so i don't seem to be able to say "hey, come join me - i'm user #x or my username is yyy". makes the while inviting/seeking process unneccessarily clumsy, methinks.
anyhoo, bug me to join, or not.

many of the people i know by name have yet to appear on friendster (invitation by email), and some i know only by their alisas/es (those i have not invited directly). i know quite a few people only by their first names - not helpful on friendster :)
and there are many who i know only obliquely, but i see no reason not to give them the opportunity to let me know where they stand on friendster.
just as on livejournal, i don't presume people want me adding them to my 'friends' list. nor do i presume they're not interested.
anyway, i'm just experimenting with friendster. not sure what i'll do with it just yet ;)

can't yet see how friendster works as a 'dating service' ... it's a rather clumsy way of meeting people. especially when compared with my friends' experiments with say lavalife or whatever.
besides, i'm more interested in how others use it, and perhaps in exploring the 'degrees of separation' maps. i don't go online looking for dates.
