i went out to meet a friend at the belgian beer cafe. he's just finished his law degree. [congrats, again, jason!]
as the evening progressed my attention was increasingly drawn to the other table, and the four (then three) lovely ladies sitting there.
i have not felt so comfortable in a long time.
we talked for hours. they invited me on to the crown & anchor.
i like them, one in particular. will. have. to. ask. her. out. [ should have done last night, but i do move slowly. damn :sigh: must. take. risks. they're worth it. ]

have resolved to fall on my sword if i have to in order to ask her out ... now i have to have just a little bit of patience 'til i can do that face-to-face.

and this week is filled with bits of work, and looking after my son for three days. then i go to a housewarming on saturday night. sunday morning i'm off to the country for a week at a country school.
i still hope, but i'm having to focus on more immediate matters.
