the next few days are going to be insane.
i've had hans since wednesday. he's an excitable handful at the best of times. right now it's 'daddy this' and 'daddy that' all the time, everywhere we go! [i need to sleep. i need to be able to sleep...]
i have him on into saturday. i'm gonna be a mess.
tomorrow he goes back to child care/kindergarden for the day. i'll get a few hours to run around and try to get thigns done before i have to pick him up again. [i wish i had a car. i wish i could afford to have a car. would save me hours on the bus. and make a huge difference to my life.]
anyway, tomorrow is run-around-and-try-to-get-shit-done day. here's hoping.
saturday is hand back day. and washing day. and packing day.
sunday morning i'm expected to be waiting with a bunch of fellow student teachers at uni by 8am. that's 8am on a sunday morning. evil!
of course, my choosing to go to a housewarming on the saturday night probably won't help, but i don't care  and besides, i never let a good party pass if i can help it. [and it's not as though i need to be alert to sit in a mini bus for four hours or so.]
next week i'm on a week-long field trip to a country school. get out in the fresh air, see how things are out in the country. should be fun. wondering what i'll get to teach. country school, links to the local farming communities. the clare valley wineries. all good for me.
so i'll probably not be here from tomorrow night. do comment. do heckle. do expect me to respond in about 8-9 days, full of vigour and vim. [or vino. depends how lucky i get ;)]

Do you live in an urban area? That blows my mind that some people don't have cars. Although, this is coming from a girl that lives in a more rural area.

i live in the adelaide metropolitan area. owning a car requires an income (a regular income) greater than half the poverty line ... not having a car is a serious inconvenience, but i can get around on public transport. [i really miss the freedom of my own transport.]
[this is someone who bussed around los angeles the last time i was there.]
i grew up in the country. cars are kinda handy to have there.
