(no subject)
interview

3. if you could be anywhere in the world, but not australia, where would that be?
4. if you could solve one internaitonal problem, what would you solve?
5. what is your favourite beverage?
(no subject)
i'm pagan too. and i love merlot.
i'll be in oz in feb too, i'll have to come over with a bottle o red and we can have a chat :)
(do me!)
(no subject)
well met!
meeting over a nice bottle of red would be most agreeable.
(roflmao! ok. um. interview to follow ...)
you know the rules ...
2. if you could paint one picture with the art of a great master, what would you paint and in the style of which mater?
3. are you a fan of any of the tv 'witches', and why or why not?
4. what do you least like about your computer?
5. what attracts you to paganism?
Re: you know the rules ...
1. which parts of australia do you plan to visit in february?
i'm visiting family in lismore. and i've heard just how laid back it is - bliss for a week i reckon! as to other places, i'm taking reccommendations!
2. if you could paint one picture with the art of a great master, what would you paint and in the style of which mater?
oooooh. i'm a massive geiger fan, but i don't know if he'd count as a "master" yet. so i'll choose picasso - his early work i found stunning, before all the the cubes! proof that although he chose his own style, he really could paint still life etc as well as any master.
3. are you a fan of any of the tv 'witches', and why or why not?
actually, i like charmed - it's pretty close to the craft. oooh, and nancy from the craft, mostly cos she's sexy ;).
i'd like to be samantha from bewitched - i love the twitchy nose thing. :)
4. what do you least like about your computer?
it used to have this really annoying habit of rebooting itself for no reason - touch wood i've fixed it. a flat screen would be nice too.
5. what attracts you to paganism?
the fact that i can make it mine, that i can grow and learn along with my understanding and my beliefs. the fact that i can see nature around me, i have all the proof i need (damn my scientific mind!), and i admire the ethos of caring and understanding as well as "karma" or threefold law, it's a complex mix but i love it. and as my friend always said, "spells are like praying, but with a bit more effort" - we shouldn't get things for free.
oh, and i'm romany gypsy by blood, there's gotta be something in that!
nice questions!
Re: you know the rules ...
two wine regions, sandy beaches, hills, a variety of entertainment venues, and cafe's and restaurtants aplenty. some of our wines are 'best in the world' ...
i wasn't being fussy about who is a 'master' :)
geiger has some really broody stuff. picasso's early work does help us see how a strong grasp of 'the basics' helps an artist express their own style. [so what would you paint in the style of picasso or geiger?]
i found charmed annoying after a while. but then i'm not a big fan of soapies :)
i seem to like the 'bad girls' ... faith and bad willow in buffy ... they have more spark than most of the 'good' characters. though josh does like his characters well rounded.
i usually begin explaining paganism through energy, linking my beliefs to our understanding of the physical world. the bit that usually grabs attention, one way or another, is how i beleive that my thoughts can influence energy patterns. as you say, nothing comes for free - which is consistent with basic physics. [that's a real nutcracker for other science nerds to cope with ... everything being consistent with their science :)] [among other things, i'm a science nerd :D]
romany blood. you have the dark eyes too, i'm guessing.
Re: you know the rules ...
and no, my eyes are blue and my hair's naturally golden blonde, though i dye it dark. that's me in the icon.
didn't tell you the other side of my family are vikings >:D
\o/ for being a science nerd!
Re: you know the rules ...
a blue-eyed blonde. with viking and romany blood. a potentially passionate combination, me thinks.
i'm a blue-eyed, greying-light-brown southerner - mix of saxon, jute, and more recently norwegian. probably viking in there also, since there is red through my father's line, with links into the north somewhere.
and thanks. my being a science nerd hasn't always been appreciated :)

How is it that I had no idea you believed in shamanism?
(no subject)
while i've posted about my beliefs in past, since it's just part of my life i don't tend to go on about it ... :)
is there anythign else about me you'd like to know? try the five question interview on me :)
(no subject)
I'm just intrigued that you follow shamanism because my Uncle happens to be a shaman.
Tell me more about what exactly you practice with your religion and beliefs. :)
(no subject)
on the shamanism. that's the subject of a significant response i think. if i can't find my original post on the subject in my lj, i'll put something together for you.
i'd also be interested to read what you know about your uncle's beliefs and practices.
your interview
2. what is your favourite breed of horse, and why?
3. what is your favourite dessert?
4. silk, satin, or cotton?
5. why don't you like female horses?
Re: your interview
1. I would live in the western part of the United States. I adore California, and the eastern part of it seems perfect for horses.
2. For riding purposes, I love Quarter Horses. They are incredibly versital in every form of equstrian sports. Although, I do eventually want to own a Cleveland Bay. Those are the horses that British police ride.. and jeeesus, they're gorgeous.
3. Mmm, strawberry cheesecake. But I'm actually quite satisfied with simply vanilla ice cream.
4. Cotton. Slippery material is still odd to me.
5. Hah. I really don't enjoy female animals in general. But the lady horses tend to be not as corrupertive, and more moody. Plus, they go into heat, and that's just a pain. However, they do not have penises, and cleaning out penises is such a hassle :/
Re: your interview
cleveland bays are nice to look at - i've yet to ride a horse [i've ridden camels, elephants, a donkey and a large dog] i'm happy to accept your more experienced opinion. [as i understand it the bays have a fabulous temperament]
cheesecake is one of my favs also. as is real vanilla ice cream. vanilla is one of my favourite flavours and smells.
the slippery stuff has it's good points, but cotton is more versatile - and can be just as effective.
i imagined female horses also have cleaning needs? but i do understand the moodiness and issues when they go on heat. similar to many other mammals. [i used to breed a variety of small native australian marsupials, native snakes, and of course rats and mice for the dining pleasure of the first two groups. female hopping mice can really bite!]
Re: your interview
I suppose you may have to clean female horses a bit, but cleaning a male horse's shealth is pretty difficult, especially if they keep their penis up (you have to dig your hands up there, overall a very unpleasant experience).
Re: your interview
i have some idea what you're talking about. spent a little time at the zoo as a volunteer. as soon as the cat was out of the bag that i was a biology student, i got all the 'best' jobs ...
