Learn from the mistakes of others

Lately there has been so much going on in your life, Steven, that you barely
seem able to catch your breath. The demands at work and at home have
kept you constantly on the run.

i have been busy. very busy.
and catching something in the order of six to eight buses a day.
which eats bigs holes in your day.
catching up with people is good. it's my favourite way to be busy.

this weekend i have been housesitting my ex's, well, house [obviously].
new computer. big tv. new cd player.
too busy to make good use of any of the above.

woke late on saturday. still exhausted from the five week prac.
only just beginning to let go, and relax now. a week later.


i got to spend most of saturday night dead. being castellan is cool. especially when you
can be beaten up on your own bloodgrounds by your sire. [yep. i roleplay. vampire larp.]
but combat mechanics can take forever. i spent hours watching others.
must be a better way to do that ...

sunday arvo and evening - caught up with jason and friends for his birthday.
will be catching up with them all more often.

[NOTE TO SELF: don't leave home without mobile phone.]

Today is a good day to take stock of all the changes that have happened and
get some perspective. This is a time for withdrawing from the many demands
on you and for making room for some quiet reflection so the changes you wish
to have in your life can take place.

so many changes. so much to reflect upon. to contemplate.
and a strong desire to sit down somewhere with someone for a long rambling chat.
with good coffee/tea, and later a glass or two of a nice alchoholic beverage.

i am someone who needs to talk things out. but also, to listen.
i also need to share space. me alone is not good. i fall inwards.
i need the pull of another person to keep me balanced.

the realisation that i'm not as free to move as i thought.
my emotional ties to my son are strong. stronger than i realised six weeks ago.

and i find i have unfinished business here.
