welcome to 20065.
please observe the fasten seatbelts and no smoking signs.

and no puking on the carpet on your way out...

well, haven't the past few weeks been a fun lead up to the end of '054 and the start of '065

in the mix:
  • i've had 'fun' with the family.
  • my computer crashed twice - requiring a complete reinstall that took almost three days of my life over the past week. win xp service pack 2 is evil.
  • caught up with a number of old friends.
  • received a most excellent x-mas card from [livejournal.com profile] obsoletechild ... i love getting cards, postcards, letters.
  • bought two christmas cards, and then promptly lost them somewhere on the way to posting them. sorry. will fix that on monday.
  • agreed to help an old friend drive home on monday. home to canberra. 15 hours of driving. a day or two in canberra, then back home on a bus or something.
  • took my son to a new years party hosted by [livejournal.com profile] unmercifulelf & [livejournal.com profile] groozy_del.
  • caught up with [livejournal.com profile] daydaze and friends. hoping to catch up again tommorrow.
  • watched serious amounts of battlestar galactica, regenesis, and penn & teller: bullshit.
  • joined a new roleplaying game [modified ad&d 3ed rules]
  • mailed off several job applications, got one interview - and zero job offers. the treadmill begins again in a week.
a brief survey of tv tonight reassures me that very little has changed there. [much crap on tv, though some gems can be found, i'm usually out on those nights.]

had so much fun i managed to fastforward myself to next year. rofl!!!

Intentional that-was-one-quick-year or typo? Tune in at 11, as they say... erf.
(Hrm, I should see if I can catch the new Penn & Teller show on my TV with basic cable here. Thanks for the reminder.)

I think he was prolly a bit oblivious-aspie, knowing him. :-)

I found, a few days back, that I'd written 'Grechaninov left Russia for Russia and France'. That was amusing. Sort of.

Iunno who Grechaninov is/was but I understand the humour. :-)

It's good when we can laugh at ourselves.

I've been absorbed by (in several senses) Wikipedia lately, and it was for an article I was writing/contributing to/started - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Grechaninov . The error is stored for all to chuckle at in the page history link, where nothing ever goes away. Which is not a bad thing, since if someone erases the whole page (as happened yesterday with the page for the filmmaker Michael Moore and happens regularly with controversial pages, you might imagine), it can be restored easily using that page.

To fill out what I just commented, it was meant to demonstrate, though whether it's related to AS or not I've no clue *g* - a tendency to think about something else while writing and include it in what I'm writing, and not notice until quite some while later. Which is in the same general geographic mailing area as what you describe, if not necessarily otherwise close!
