5 years ago:
August 2000 - second wedding anniversary rolling round. son well on his way to his first birthday. nearly finished the law degree.

1 year ago:
August 2004 - nearly finished the grad dip in education. i think at this point i was back in the place i had my teens in, teachign at the school i did high school in, trying to think of reasons why i wasn't escaping ...

Yesterday:
See my earlier post.

5 snacks I enjoy:
  1. biscuits - especially tim tams.
  2. chips.
  3. chocolate - especially from haigh's.
  4. other stuff i can't think of right now.

5 songs I know all of the lyrics to:

ah. nope. but i do know the choruses to about 500 songs ...

5 things I would do with 100 million dollars:
  1. clear my debts
  2. set up a
    trust
  3. start my own business.

the rest would follow from there.

  1. Cambridge, UK
  2. Boston, USA
  3. The Hague, The Netherlands
  4. Lima, Peru
  5. Phuket, Thailand

5 things I would never wear:
hard to say, really. especially in light of the things i have actually worn in my lifetime. such as the peach skirt-suit number ... for a rocky horror evening. complete with high heels, stockings ... back when i was still weight-lifting ...

5 favorite T.V. shows:
Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Deadwood, The Daily Show,

honourable mentions would include:
ReGenesis, Lexx (especially Season One: Eva Habermann - enough said), Stargate franchise, NCIS (Abby!), CSI franchise, first season of Law & Order when it was still original, Numb3rs, Without a Trace, ... OK, so I like good Sci-Fi and have fun with legal/criminal/sci-tech drama.

5 bad habits:
  1. talking
  2. thinking
  3. questioning
  4. reading
  5. writing

Dr Who hey... hrmm my fav show of all time. How I love ABC for replaying all the old ones from scratch and how I shall miss the new season once it ends this Saturday. Damn good stuff.

I spent chunks of my childhood building TARDISs and so forth. in my early teens I wanted to be tom baker ... I still like wearing long coats and long scarves together :)

My 5yo son loves Doctor Who. He's been watching the older eps after school, and the new series on Saturday nights.

One moment I'll always remember with my son was when he ran up to me, all excited, and said: "Look Dad, I made a sonic screwdriver at school today!". And it was pretty darn impressive for a 5 yo's recollection constructed out of cardboard tubing, cellophane and oddments.

I have the whole of the 2005 season on my hard drive. (It's just a little too big for a single 4.7G DVD, so I'm collecting extras and will burn it all ontto a double-layer disc.) Awaiting Boxing Day impatiently. The Christmas Special should be available on bittorrent within a few hours of airing in the UK. I saw each episode around 12 hours after it aired UK-side.

Ah hehehehe you sound just like me. I made my own paper mache K9 which from memory was pretty damn spectacular right down to his tartan collar. I used to lay away dreaming of making a full scale Darlek out of 24g drums but sadly the need for welding equipment put an end to those ideas for my child self.

Love that your little guy is making sonic screwdrivers. That is fantastic!

We built a TARDIS and two Darleks durign the construction of the Engineering Building at Flinders Uni, many years ago.

Starting the TARDIS off with an old Telecom Phonebox was cool.

Each Darlek began life as airconditioning ducting. Lighter and easier to work with than a steel drum :) They fell afoul of the driving skills of one of the team, who backed over them when he was intending to get them into a trailer to take home. [They were OK, but the TARDIS was cool.]

The TARDIS is probably still somewhere around the Flinders Campus somewhere. Probably under a staircase, or behind a bookshelf.

Hans' sonic screwdriver was AWESOME. Most of it is still somewhere in his bedroom, I'm reliably informed by him Mum :)

I was pretty sure. I'm not so fussy about remember when things happen as I am about trying to learn from my experiences.

Yeah. Not fussy myself, but I was reading through my old entries.
