My 5yo son loves Doctor Who. He's been watching the older eps after school, and the new series on Saturday nights.
One moment I'll always remember with my son was when he ran up to me, all excited, and said: "Look Dad, I made a sonic screwdriver at school today!". And it was pretty darn impressive for a 5 yo's recollection constructed out of cardboard tubing, cellophane and oddments.
I have the whole of the 2005 season on my hard drive. (It's just a little too big for a single 4.7G DVD, so I'm collecting extras and will burn it all ontto a double-layer disc.) Awaiting Boxing Day impatiently. The Christmas Special should be available on bittorrent within a few hours of airing in the UK. I saw each episode around 12 hours after it aired UK-side.

Love that your little guy is making sonic screwdrivers. That is fantastic!

Starting the TARDIS off with an old Telecom Phonebox was cool.
Each Darlek began life as airconditioning ducting. Lighter and easier to work with than a steel drum :) They fell afoul of the driving skills of one of the team, who backed over them when he was intending to get them into a trailer to take home. [They were OK, but the TARDIS was cool.]
The TARDIS is probably still somewhere around the Flinders Campus somewhere. Probably under a staircase, or behind a bookshelf.
Hans' sonic screwdriver was AWESOME. Most of it is still somewhere in his bedroom, I'm reliably informed by him Mum :)
