i have been granted the disability support pension. against all odds.
am most happy.
this doesn't mean i will not be applying for jobs, nor that i don't want one. but it does mean the ctwink system will treat me a little more like a person and less like a number. also, no more annoying f*(&^ing forms, or regular visits to an office just to prove i'm still alive and poor.
here's hoping i am successful with this current job application.
i could cope with working in canberra and being one of the bastards® for a change.

Yay for getting Centrelink to un-fat-arse themselves!
*dance!*
thnx!
almost.
you probably
wouldn'twould believe how muchcock i've had to suckwork i've had to do to get here though.being unemployed with a disability like mine simply raises the hurdles ... and the processes that could have been helping me simply expect me to do more than the average mortal just to get into the race ...
i was asked many years ago why i'm a 'feminist'. i said it is because i understand the frustration. i simply had no idea at the time how much i still had to deal with.
i am now hoping that somehting will begin to happen for me. i barely dare to hope that anything will get easier.

There is one born every 60 seconds.
Congrats, btw. I was expecting them to keep refusing you. Are you on the old scheme or the new scheme?

but autismsa has been campaigning to have the way auties are assessed ... so who knows.
i'm not complaining.
i won't know which variant of the dsp i'm on until i get the letter thingy. so far i've been told over the counter (handed in last dole form ever today!!!) and checked it online.
being treated less like a number at ctwink may not actually amount to much.

but i will be going back to crs. they were not very useful - beyond providing vouchers for clothign - but that was a big help.
my biggest concern is how and when to disclose - and even if ...

specific to some point in the health/insurance contract which might make
their cover for you null & void. Unless they ask specifically, then I don't know what I would do either.
