having given up on the possibility of legal practice, and accepting the joy that is being back in a university, the wierdest thing is going on now.

i have an interview on monday. for a lawyering job. will take it part-time. [not certainty that i have it yet, of course - but if i'm offered, i'll negotiate 2-3 days per week.]

the job is back-of-house work. in a small personal injury firm. mostly dealing with evidentiary stuff. technical, detailed, my kind of thing. and i'll be safe from clients and vice versa :)

letting go does appear to be working.

and in other news:

i (still) don't totally suck at building prefab furniture.

non sequitor, of course )

tonight was an exercise in self-promotion.

today was my last day in the civil section at the crown. contract ended. done.

tonight i went out to drinks, a combined crown & dpp event. i missed talking to our new dpp, but i did catch up with our new crown solicitor.

meanwhile, i drank a few absolut citron & lemonade ... muchly ok. not made drunklies, just happilie.

got to say good bye to most people.

hoping that my interview this morning went as well as i think it did - and get's me the job. i'd very much like to be working at the crown again - the job would have me outposted to decs, dealing with teachers and the like on a daily basis. think i could handle that. :)

my (current) job ends next friday.

i am madly applying for anything that comes up even remotely interesting or lawyerish.

the applications generally take the form of responding to a series of 'person specifications' - so i do a fair bit of cut and pasting <grin> otherwise, i'd never get to sleep. on average each application takes about ten to fourteen pages, including my four page resume. (bloody government bureaucracy!)

much wanting to avoid being unemployed again. that would suck. not only moneywise, but i'm really enjoying working. not to mention the ego boot. (it's interesting to be on the recieving end of the reactions a good suit gets ;)

but i'm damn tired a lot of the time. must sleep more. so, on that note, i'm off to bye byes.
