'Third Way' Liberal

You scored 69% Personal Liberty and 34% Economic Liberty!
A third way liberal believes in little to moderate government intervention on personal matters and moderate to high government intervention on economic matters. They tend to be opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, and what they may consider to be a corporate state or rogue capitalism. They generally support personal liberty and believes in a social safety net or welfare state. They support self-ownership and privacy. Third way liberals are essentially the "mainstream" left and left of center.

Civil Libertarian
I scored 80% Personal Liberty and 48% Economic Liberty!
A civil libertarian believes in little to no government intervention on personal matters and moderate government intervention on economic matters. As the name implies, a Civil Libertarian's main concern is with civil liberties - personal matters. They tend to be strongly opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, and foreign intervention. Civil Libertarians may tend to believe in a social safety net, but to a lesser extent then most leftists. Strong Civil Libertarians are somewhat inclined towards supporting capitalism as an economic system. A civil libertarian strongly believes in protecting personal liberty. They strongly support self-ownership and privacy.

or an american uni graduate ... pretty much the same thing ;)

Sadly, that is true. Even a master's degree doesn't mean much here, except that the person has the patience to hang around a university for an extra year or two.

Aside from the faulty spelling, grammar and conception, the red box on the diagram doesn't even match my score.

increasingly, master's degrees mean less and less here - coursework masters merely require some time and some money. the latter being the bigger impost.

my politics are somewhat more complex than this quiz allows for ...

Isn't it amusing that the left side of politics is 'liberal', and yet the Australian Liberal party belongs more on the right?
